Available in Sport, Altitude, North, Limited, High Altitude, Trailhawk, Trailhawk Leather Plus and Overland trims, the Cherokee delivers legendary Jeep 4x4 capability. The compact SUV features a choice of two engines, both 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains, plus a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission, and more than 70 advanced safety and security features. The Jeep Cherokee is the first SUV in its class to feature rear-axle disconnect, resulting in reduced energy loss when 4x4 capability isn’t needed, which improves fuel efficiency. The rear-axle disconnect seamlessly switches between two- and four-wheel drive for full-time torque management and does not require input from the driver. Models equipped with the 3.2L V6 come with engine stop-start technology (ESS), a fuel-saving feature that increases fuel efficiency by shutting the engine off when the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The engine restarts automatically when the driver releases the brake, allowing seamless acceleration.
