Quintessential British luxury is how Jaguar defines its XJ series of sedans, which offers a wide variety of configurations including extended wheelbase options. The current model boasts an updated exterior complete with LED headlights, new driver assistance features and enhanced infotainment systems, including Wi-Fi hotspot, mobile connectivity and 17-speaker surround sound. The XJ features Jaguar’s Instinctive All Wheel Drive and a choice of four engines, with the addition of a 3.0-litre diesel in 2016. At the top of the line, the XJR runs with a 550-horsepower supercharged V8 engine. All of these powerplants are coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission, controlled by the JaguarDrive Selector; this controller rises from the centre console after the illuminated stop/start button has been pushed, bringing the Jaguar to life.
