Seeing a major redesign for 2017, including chassis, powertrain and technology upgrades, the F-Series Super Duty carries over for 2018. Super Duty’s enhanced capability starts with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy and high-strength steel that help keep its weight down. A fully boxed frame that is more than 95% high-strength steel and up to 24 times stiffer than the previous frame improves towing and hauling performance. And the aluminum-alloy body is more dent and ding resistant, says Ford, than steel bodies. Both diesel and gas engines are backed by a TorqShift six-speed automatic with SelectShift. The optional 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 produces 440 horsepower and 925 pound-feet of torque. The standard 6.2L V8 produces 430 lb-ft of torque and 385 hp.
