Cadillac will offer people their first look at the company’s new XT4 compact crossover via a series of television ads set to air Sunday during the 90th Academy Awards.

The ads were released online Friday and show that the XT4, based on the brand’s new design language, will apparently boast a more sculptured look than Cadillac’s current range, with a new LED headlight signature borrowed from the Escala concept car featured in last year’s Oscar ads.

Each of the three Cadillac spots will feature upbeat pop songs as background music but, curiously, some won’t include any spoken dialogue, instead letting the visuals and some text do the talking.

The Cadillac XT4 will make its debut late this month in New York. Details on the compact SUV are scarce, save for the fact it’s essentially a scaled-down version of the company’s popular XT5.

Together with its flagship Escalade, the two SUVs outsell Cadillac’s cars by roughly two to one. The XT4 is thus expected to fill a very important gap in the Cadillac lineup.

Buyers can expect the XT4 to hit Canadian dealerships this fall.
